Autumn 2024 - When I fall Asleep
When I Fall Asleep
The main focus for our When I Fall Asleep topic is understanding night time (and day time) and bedtime routines. The topic allows for lots of investigation into what happens at night (e.g. nocturnal animals) and how we feel when it is night time.
As a hook for the topic the children will be invited to come in in their pyjamas and bring in their favourite bedtime toy.
During the topic pupils will have lots of opportunities to extend their Language Literacy and Communication and Mathematical Development skills through Nursery Rhymes and simple familiar stories.
Here are some of the rhymes and stories we will be exploring in a mulitisensory way throughout the Autumn Term.
The topic will end with the children performing a ‘Night before Christmas’ show to parents, which will include lullabies and night time routines and give the children the opportunity to showcase their oracy skills.
