The Big Picture
During this topic - ‘Digital Developers’, the children will work in groups to design a sustainable stadium for the Welsh Rugby Union for their local community. They will create their designs digitally and enter the WRU Competition through Hwb.
In this STEM-based topic, learners will become enterprising and innovative contributors. They will be creating a sports club for the future, which will be sustainable, inclusive, and accessible to all, using various digital apps such as Minecraft education. Pupils will become ambitious and capable learners when researching different sports venues and their impact on the community. Links with the community are key to this project, in order to assess what they would like to see in their club of the future. Pupils will demonstrate an understanding of welsh identity and culture and of their local area.
The end product will involve the pupils creating a video walkthrough with a voice-over of their created build, explaining its key features, and justifying their choices. They will create a portfolio showcasing their learning journey as the topic progresses.
