During this topic - ‘Lights, Camera, Action!`, pupils will work towards the goal of creating an assembly for parents based on the story of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
They will be looking closely at the story of `Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' and how it has been adapted for stage and screen. Pupils will have the opportunity to express themselves through a variety of media including dance and music. They will have the opportunity to become creative contributors by writing a script for their performance and designing the set and costumes.
Linking with this pupils will participate in the Green Power - Formula 1 challenge. They will become enterprising, creative contributors by designing, creating and racing their own formula 1 car ,using sponsorship that they have obtained from local businesses. They will then use this knowledge, along with studies of how cars/films/stage performances have changed over the years, to create a car for their stage production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Thus becoming knowledgeable about their own culture, society and the world now and in the past. Pupils will show commitment to the sustainability of the planet when learning about greener energy
The end product for this topic will be an end of term concert for learners to showcase their talents, demonstrating what they have learned during the term and a formula 1 race will be held in Aberdare Park against other participating schools.
