To kick start our Muck, Mess and Mixtures topic we have been reading George’s Marvellous Medicine. After reading all about the incredible effects that George’s medicine had on Grandma, we decided we’d like to have a go at making our own! Today, we all went outside and used natural materials to create our own mixtures! We loved getting messy, while practising using our time connectives and bossy verbs!

Children in Need

Today was Children in Need. Some of the things we wore included our pjs, fancy dress, normal clothes and sports clothes! We each donated money and took part in a danceathon! We had so much fun!

We’ve dressed up as lots of different things for our Halloween disco! Some of us are devils, zombie brides, creepy clowns, vampires and so much more!

Rocket Experiment - 3, 2, 1, BLAST OFF!

This afternoon we conducted an experiment where we tested different types of balloons to see which would travel the furthest. We tested the following shaped balloons - heart, round, rocket and ribbed. Before we tested the different balloons we made predictions, not many of us guessed right! It was the ribbed balloon that travelled the furthest! This is the balloon we would use if we had to use one to create our own rocket balloon!

Today we went on a trip to Techniquest! As our topic is ‘To Infinity and Beyond’ we decided to visit the ‘Blast Off’ show where we took a trip to the moon with Delyth the dragon! We saw a real life space suit and tried on the helmets worn by astronauts! As well as this, we had the chance to look at the other interesting things at Techniquest such as the floating ball, green screen, the human body and circuits. We had such a fantastic day.

As the weather was beautiful today, we decided to spend some time in the sun creating our very own space masterpiece using chalk.

Some of the things we drew included the Sun, aliens, astronauts and rockets

We enjoyed getting our hands messy!

VR headsets - A trip to the moon!

Today, without leaving the comfort of our classroom, we went on a trip to the moon. Can you believe it?

We used our brand new VR headsets to experience being on the moon, looking at the different colours, shapes and textures.

We had the most amazing afternoon using the VR headsets. We can’t wait to use them again later on in our topic!
