School Council

School Council

Our School Council is made up of elected representatives from each class from Year 2 to Year 6 who have been proposed and elected by their class mates to represent their views and raise issues with senior managers and the governors of the school.

The aims of Ynysowen school council are to:

  • run a school council that will provide a working model of how people should behave and listen to each other with respect.
  • for pupils to enjoy and feel empowered by their education.
  • feel that their school responds to their views and their needs.
  • have an opportunity to let adults know their feelings and opinions about things that affect them.
  • have a say about decisions, and to play an active role in making their school a better place.
  • develop life skills through participation.

The School Council reports back to the governing body on a termly basis.

The council meets twice every half term and works on implementing their action plan (see below).
