Destructive Dementors
Our Topic this term is Destructive Dementors. The pupils will look closely at the bridges destroyed during the Harry Potter stories and design and create new ones using various materials.
They will work closely with Griffiths Construction, participating in a work shop building an ICE bridge. We have also invited various people from the local community into school to talk about their jobs as architects, surveyors and construction workers, in order for the pupils to gain an understanding of the world of work.
The pupils will identify how construction companies help to protect the habitats of different animals when building and they will learn how to make their structures strong by carrying out various experiments.
